Dwayne Bravo, the former West Indies all-rounder, is all set to hang his boots from professional T20 cricket. The legendary cricketer has announced his retirement from the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) ahead of the much-awaited CPL 2024.

Bravo has confirmed that the upcoming 2024 edition of the CPL will be his last season as he will bid farewell to the popular league.

For the unversed, Bravo had retired from international cricket after the 2021 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Dwayne Bravo also announced his retirement from the IPL in 2023 before becoming the part of CSK coaching staff.

Yes, you read that right. Dwayne Bravo, who has been the legend of the game, has made a massive impact in the league along with other tournaments around the world. However, he has decided to bring his career in the Caribbean Premier League to an end.

On Sunday, Bravo took to his social media and announced the big decision to retire from the Carribean Premier League. The all-rounder stated that he would be playing his final professional career competition in front of his home crowd in the Caribbean. Taking to his social media, Dwayne Bravo wrote:

“It’s been a great journey and I’m looking forward to playing my final professional tournament in front of my Caribbean people. TKR is the place where everything started for me and will end with my team.”

Talking about his career in the Caribbean Premier League, he is the all-time leading wicket-taker in the tournament, having picked 128 wickets to his name in the 103 games he has played so far in the league. He has also contributed with the bat, slamming 1155 runs.

During his glorious CPL career, Bravo has also won five titles, three of which came under his captaincy. While Bravo guided the Trinbago Knight Riders to consecutive titles in 2017 and 2018, he led the Patriots to their inaugural championship in 2021.

Meanwhile, in the upcoming CPL 2024 edition, Dwayne Bravo will be playing his trade for Trinbago Knight Riders. TKR will kickstart their campaign in the CPL 2024 against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Sunday. Bravo will be looking forward to ending his career in the CPL 2024 on a high by winning the title for his team.
