Cricketers Who Are Also Olympians: Cricket might be popular globally now but it was once a part of the Olympics. Surprisingly the sport was included in the 1900 Paris Olympics. It saw only two teams Great Britain and France face off. Sadly cricket was dropped after that due to the lack of interest from other countries.
However, this did not stop cricketers from achieving glory at the Olympians. Many cricketers later represented their country in various sports in the Olympics.
Let’s have a look at those cricketers who are also Olympians:

But it was on the field of athletics where he made his mark. In 1948 the same year that he played cricket for Marylebone, McCorquodale won a silver medal for Great Britain in the 4x100m relay at the London Olympics.
Michael Walford
Another cricketer-turned-Olympians is Michael Walford. Born in 1915, he played first-class cricket for Oxford University and Somerset. But his Olympic dream was on the hockey field. In 1948, he was part of the British hockey team that won the silver medal at the London Olympics.
