Last week was very exciting for cricket in the Asian continent, one of the biggest historic games took place in the last week. Along with international cricket, we’ve seen some of the best moments in domestic cricket also, from Shoeb Malik’s BPL controversy to Tanmay Agrawal’s historic inning in the Ranji Trophy let’s check out the top seven news of Asia which grabbed the headlines from the last week.
England’s historic win on Indian Soil
England has taken a long holiday from their home to play five test matches series in India. This tour will go from 25 January to 11 March. 29th January has to be the last day of the first test but unfortunately, the game ended one day earlier and as soon as the results came out it became a historical game for England and World Cricket.
India gets the first blow even before the toss when Virat Kohli pulls out from the first two games due to personal reasons and there is no exact confirmation about those personal reasons. India is a strong side when it comes to playing in home conditions and it become nearly unbeatable for any team. India has lost just three test matches in the last 10 years before the first test match this shows how powerful a team India has become.
England came to bat in the first inning after winning the toss and as expected Indian spinners ended English innings on the first day at just 246 and started batting. India took the lead of 190 runs after they got summed up at 436 and then everyone believed that India was going to win this game but in the third inning England players especially Ollie Pope(196) turned the tables and set the target of 231 runs for the final inning. The target was achievable as India had two sessions and one full day left of the game but English spinner Tom Hartley had some other plans on Sunday when he grabbed the ball. Hartley gives every possible damage to the Indian team and he makes sure that the game won’t be on the fifth day. With the help of Hartkey’s 7-62 England has won a historic test match by 28 runs and lead the series by 1-0. The second test match will start on 2nd February at Visakhapatnam.
