India’s fielding coach, Munish Bali, showered praise on the versatile seam-bowling all-rounder Amanjot Kaur for her outstanding performance in the third T20I against England. Bali highlighted Amanjot’s role as an ‘impact player’ and credited her all-round heroics for India’s five-wicket victory at the Wankhede Stadium.
Amanjot showcased her prowess by picking 2-25 in three overs and took a spectacular catch to dismiss Bess Heath. With the bat, she played a crucial role, hitting two fours off the top-ranked T20I bowler, Sophie Ecclestone, making an unbeaten ten off just four balls to secure India’s victory in the chase of 127 with an over to spare.
Munish Bali, in the post-match press conference, expressed admiration for Amanjot’s contributions, saying, “She’s an impact player; if you see, she came and bowled the fourth over in the powerplay and bowled very well. She fielded very well. When we were chasing, the first ball she faced was whipped through the covers by her.”

Amanjot Kaur, who made her T20I debut earlier this year against South Africa, has quickly established herself as a key player. Despite India losing the series 2-1, there were positive takeaways, including the impressive comeback of fast-bowler Renuka Singh Thakur, who returned after recovering from a stress fracture injury. Renuka’s figures of 3/27, 2/26, and 2/23 contributed significantly to India’s positive start in the series.
Munish Bali also acknowledged the team’s improved fielding performance on Sunday and attributed it to the youthful energy brought in by newcomers. He emphasized the importance of fitness and fielding going hand in hand, praising Amanjot, Jemimah, and Shreyanka for their supreme fitness.
Reflecting on the challenges faced playing under lights after a long gap, Bali said, “We played a day-night game after almost six to seven months. The last game that the girls played was in WPL, after that, they did not play in the nighttime. It is always very difficult as a team when you are playing after seven months. But we started practicing and getting used to under lights, that is why the results are coming.”
