Ireland cricketer ‘Kevin O’Brien’ get shockingly retired from the international cricket

The legendary all rounder of Ireland Kevin O’Brien has suddenly announced his retirement from all the formats of international cricket, Brien has been the leading cricketer from Ireland which has truly established the name of this small cricket playing nation into the international cricketing circuit. He has a fantastic limited overs career, where he has played 153 ODI games and scored 3619 runs with brilliant average 30.50. 

    In the T20 format he has appeared in 110 matches and the most key thing about his T20I career is the attacking strike rate of 150.7 which he maintained in the 14 year long journey of the format. No one can forget his splendid century against England in the 2011 WC which holds the record of fastest century ever smashed in the Men’s ICC 50-over World Cup. 

    Kevin O’Brien made his International day in the year 2006 against England in the first ever match he played an impressive knock of 60+ odd runs. In the year 2008 he appeared for the first time in T20I cricket and recently in 2018 he made his test debut against the side of England but only succeeded in playing 3 test matches in his entire career.

    Kevin O’brien will always be renowned as the legendary Irish cricketer, his contribution for Ireland cricket is absolutely tremendous. He has announced his retirement in a long twitter post, from which a small section is mentioned further, “Today I announce my retirement from international cricket after 16 years and 389 caps for my country. 

   “I had hoped to finish my career at the T20 World Cup in Australia but having not been picked for the Irish squad since last year’s World Cup, I feel that the selectors and management are looking elsewhere, “I have enjoyed every minute playing for Ireland, made many friends on the pitch and I have so many happy memories to remember from my time playing for the National side”.
