The Indian cricket player and commentator Ajit Agarkar was born on December 4, 1977. Agarkar has represented India in more than 200 games across all three formats. Ajit Agarkar was renowned for his ability to play with both new and old balls with equal aplomb. He bowled quickly and could also bat well; therefore, he was viewed as India’s version of a fast-bowling all-rounder. Although Agarkar has considerable talent, he could only make infrequent significant contributions. He was only partially present from the beginning of his career till the end.

In 2007, Agarkar was part of India’s victorious World T20 squad. He has been a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team since 2008. He stayed for three seasons before leaving for the Delhi Daredevils. He took the third-most wickets for India in one-day internationals, set records for the quickest fifty and fastest fifty by an Indian, and reached 200 wickets and 1000 runs in the fewest matches possible. Agarkar retired from all cricket competitions in 2013. After Agarkar retired from playing cricket, he started a new career as a cricket analyst.
