Sanju Samson Makes A Record Surpassing AB Devilliers, Dhoni And Raina

On 26th April, 2026, Sanju Samson recorded his milestone of scoring 5,000 career runs in the IPL, along with being one of only several players to reach this achievement in IPL history at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, when he scored 4 runs off Kagiso Rabada’s second delivery of the second over.

The match also marked the 37th game of the season. Sanju’s feat places him among other legendary batsmen who have reached this accomplishment, such as MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and AB de Villiers.
