Rashid is currently playing in the 18th edition of the IPL in India. At a recent event in Mohali, he was asked to name his favourite cricketers. Rashid chose Virat Kohli as his favourite batter, Hardik Pandya as his favourite all-rounder, and Jasprit Bumrah as his favourite bowler.

He said in a video posted on ‘X’: “Hardik Pandya. He is my favorite all-rounder. Batter Virat bhai and bowler Jasprit Bumrah.”

In IPL 2023, Rashid Khan took 27 wickets in 17 matches, his best season so far. But last year, he managed only 10 wickets in 12 games with an average of 36.70. Fans and experts thought it was just a one-time poor performance. Gujarat Titans showed faith in him by keeping him for a huge INR 18 crore before the IPL 2025 mega-auction.

Unfortunately, Rashid’s form hasn’t improved much in IPL 2025. He has taken only 9 wickets in 14 games, with a high average of 53.67 and an expensive economy rate of 9.47. These stats are not what fans expect from him.

Now, Rashid has a chance to bounce back in the playoffs. Gujarat finished third in the league and will play Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator. Rashid is known for performing well on big occasions, and he will need to lead the team if GT wants to win their second IPL title.
