The IPL 2025 is reaching the exciting part of the tournament. With over 45 matches already done, teams like RCB and MI are fighting hard at the top. But as always, one of the best parts of the IPL is how new players come forward and make headlines.
Every year, young cricketers get a golden chance to play with and against world-class players. Some grab this chance in a big way by scoring a century in their very first IPL season. That’s not easy. But a few special players have done it, and they’ve done it in style.
Let’s take a look at three uncapped players who hit a century in their debut IPL season and surprised everyone.
1. Vaibhav Suryavanshi – A Star at Just 14

The name Vaibhav Suryavanshi is now on every cricket fan’s lips. Why? Because this 14-year-old wonder kid smashed a century in his first IPL season! Playing for Rajasthan Royals, he made history in the 47th match of IPL 2025 against Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
Chasing a strong score of 209, Vaibhav didn’t waste time. He hit his first fifty in just 17 balls. Then, he powered through to reach his century in only 35 balls, finishing with a fiery 101 off 38 balls, with 11 sixes and 7 fours. His partner Yashasvi Jaiswal added a cool 70 not out, helping RR chase down the target with ease.
Vaibhav’s knock is one of the fastest hundreds by a debutant in IPL history and proves that age is just a number.
2. Priyansh Arya – Power-Packed Knock for Punjab

Next is Priyansh Arya, who played a brilliant innings for Punjab Kings against Chennai Super Kings in match 22 of IPL 2025 at Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
With wickets falling around him, Arya stayed calm and focused. He reached his fifty in 19 balls, then turned up the heat to score his first IPL hundred in just 39 balls. He ended with 103 off 42 balls, hitting 9 sixes and 7 fours. Punjab posted 219/6, and despite a good chase from CSK, they won the match by 18 runs.
Priyansh’s fearless batting shows that he’s someone to watch in the coming seasons.
3. Shaun Marsh – The Original Uncapped Centurion
While the first two players did it in 2025, Shaun Marsh was the first to do it way back in 2008.
In the 56th match of the inaugural IPL, Marsh opened the innings for Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab) against Rajasthan Royals at Mohali. He looked confident from the start, hitting his half-century in 28 balls and then reaching a century in 58 balls.
Marsh ended with 115 off 69 balls, including 11 fours and 7 sixes. Punjab scored a huge 221/3 and won the match by 41 runs. Marsh’s performance helped him win the Orange Cap that season.
His innings set the example for what a young, uncapped player could achieve in the IPL.
