The team, being a Hobart city-based franchise cricket team in the Big Bash League (BBL) was founded in between 2011-12. However, the team is said to play their home matches at the Blundstone Arena, Hobart. According to reports, the team managed to register a fine victory against the Perth Scorchers on their very first T20 match at the “WACA Stadium ”. The team also managed to reach the semi- final rounds of the tournament in that season. However, Matthew Wade is said to be the current captain of the team, who have previously been their captain throughout 22 matches. And, their coach is Adam Griffith.
Though the team is said to win nearly 13 matches till now. But so far, they have been unsuccessful in registering any BBL title to their names. As per schedule, their first encounter in the BBL (2022-23 season) will be against the Melbourne Stars on 16 December 2022.
