The weather disruption occurred moments after the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) started their run chase against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), prompting the umpires to abandon the match.

Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Punjab Kings, under captain Shreyas Iyer, registered a dominating score of 201/4 in 20 overs. Openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya set the tone, sharing a magnificent 120-run partnership in only 11.5 overs. Prabhsimran Singh was in magnificent touch, scoring 83 runs off 49 balls, including 6 fours and 6 sixes.
His counterpart, Priyansh Arya, was equally belligerent, dispatching 69 runs from 35 balls, with 8 fours and 4 sixes. Skipper Shreyas Iyer (25 off 16) and Josh Inglis (11 off 6)* contributed towards taking PBKS over the 200-run barrier.

KKR’s bowlers had a challenging outing but did manage to grab a few important wickets:

Kolkata Knight Riders responded cautiously in their chase. They reached 7/0 after the first over, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz on 1 off 3 balls and Sunil Narine on 4 off 3 balls. However, soon after, rain continued to build up, and the match was later abandoned.
