IPL 2025: RR Hits Back After Accusations Of Match-Fixing In LSG Defeat

IPL 2025: Tensions have grown between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) after Jaydeep Bihani, head of RCA’s temporary committee, questioned RR’s recent 2-run loss to the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2025.

Bihani hinted that something suspicious might have happened in the match. In response, the RR management filed a formal complaint with the Chief Minister, Sports Minister, and Sports Secretary, asking for strong action to be taken against Bihani.

Deep Roy, a senior official of the Rajasthan Royals, firmly rejected Jaydeep Bihani’s remarks, calling them “false, baseless, and without any evidence.”

Bihani had earlier raised doubts not just about the team’s performance but also accused the Rajasthan Royals, the Rajasthan Sports Council, and the BCCI of working together to keep the RCA’s ad hoc committee out of IPL-related matters.

The Royals management has strongly denied these accusations. In their official statement, they said, “We reject all allegations made by the convener of the ad hoc committee. Such public statements are not only misleading but have caused serious damage to the reputation and credibility of Rajasthan Royals, Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council, and the BCCI. They also tarnish the integrity of cricket.”

The franchise also highlighted its long-standing 18-year partnership with the state association and government, stressing that it has been following all BCCI rules and regulations. As per the current arrangements made by the BCCI, the Rajasthan Sports Council holds the official hosting rights for IPL matches in Jaipur this season.

The Royals clarified that they are working in coordination with both the Sports Council and the BCCI, under the guidance of the state government, to ensure the smooth running of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Bihani argued that the RCA has successfully hosted several ICC and BCCI international events in the past. He alleged that the Sports Council is working against the interests of sports by excluding the ad hoc committee, which was formed by the government, from the IPL activities in Jaipur. He also claimed, “The State Sports Council kept the RCA ad hoc committee away from organising the IPL. They did not even make accreditation cards for the members related to the event.”
