The highly-anticipated LQ vs KK PSL 2025 encounter became one-sided as Lahore Qalandars thrashed Karachi Kings by 65 runs in Match 6 of the Pakistan Super League. The match, conducted at the National Stadium in Karachi on April 15, 2025, was a display of Lahore’s strength in all aspects, improving their net run rate and solidifying their position as title contenders.
Fakhar Zaman, Daryl Mitchell Anchor Strong Qalandars Innings

Lahore Qalandars came out to bat first after winning the toss. But their innings got off to a rocky start with Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Naeem going cheaply in the powerplay. What took a turn next was a match-winning 125-run partnership for the 3rd wicket between Fakhar Zaman and Daryl Mitchell.
Fakhar was dropped on the very first ball of his innings by James Vince and he made the Kings pay big time by blasting 76 runs of 47 balls. Daryl Mitchell supported him brilliantly with an aggressive innings of 75 runs of 41 balls, as both batters took to attacking Karachi’s bowling attack.
The duo guided Lahore to 150/2 by the 15th over giving the innings a strong base to finish well. A couple of combustable cameos from Sam Billings (19 off 10) and, Sikandar Raza (10* off 5) propelled Qalandars to a total of 201/6. Hasan Ali toiled for Karachi, but got 4 wickets, while the rest of the bowling unit failed to create any pressure.
Shaheen’s Fiery Spell Dismantles Karachi’s Chase

In answer, the Karachi Kings cracked at the hand of Shaheen Shah Afridi’s devastating new-ball spell. Shaheen struck 2 wickets in his very first over taking David Warner and James Vince both for ducks. That early damage was crucial.
Despite Tim Seifert and Shan Masood trying to steer the recovery, both of them were sent back before the halfway point. Rishad Hossain destroyed the middle overs, taking 3 wickets and destroying the middle order. Sikandar Raza and Haris Rauf also contributed crucial breakthroughs.
Despite a late resurgence from Khushdil Shah (39 off 27) and Hasan Ali (27 off 25), Karachi Kings were dismissed for 136 in 19.1 overs. Shaheen came back to mop up the tail to end with fine figures of 3/34.
Player of the Match: Fakhar Zaman’s Game-Changing Knock

Fakhar Zaman was well deserved to be Player of the Match with his phenomenal 76, which set the stage for a convincing victory. His innings combined with some tight bowling from Shaheen and others ensured the Lahore team controlled all three aspects of the LQ vs KK PSL 2025 matchup.
