This cricket venue was established in 1955 and is one of the world’s oldest international cricket grounds. The National Stadium has seen many historic events happen at this venue throughout the history of cricket in Pakistan.
For many years, this venue has been regarded as a fortress for the Pakistan team when they played their Test matches. From 1955 until 2000, Pakistan played 34 Test matches at the National Stadium, winning 17 of them.
Therefore, throughout this period, they were also undefeated in Test matches at this venue (this means Cox and Ruddin didn’t lose a single Test match to any other Test team).
