In the RCB vs RR IPL 2025 match, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) kept their winning momentum going with a dominating 9-wicket win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 28th match of the season.
The victory was RCB’s fourth in their last six games and their fourth consecutive victory at the opposition team’s home ground. Rajasthan Royals, however, suffered their third loss of the season as RCB easily chased down their target.
Rajasthan Royals Post 174-Run Target

During the game at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals lost the toss and were sent in to bat first. They compiled a total of 173 runs for the loss of 4 wickets off their 20 overs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was the chief anchor of the innings with a masterful score of 75 runs. Even though he tried his best, the Rajasthan batting team was unable to capitalize on the platform and could only muster a humble total.
RCB’s Dominant Chase: Phil Salt and Virat Kohli Shine
RCB’s pursuit of 174 was never easy, given that the pitch was giving some help to the bowlers. But the partnership of Phil Salt and Virat Kohli ensured that the chase was taken into their control right from the beginning. Salt, especially, was simply explosive, hitting 6 sixes and 5 fours in his scorching 65-run innings off only 33 deliveries. His fireworks-based knock gave the RCB chase an aggressor’s touch.
After Salt was sent back, the Rajasthan bowlers were able to slow down the proceedings for a while. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal found it difficult to hit the boundaries, as Rajasthan tightened their bowling and created pressure. Nevertheless, Kohli and Padikkal displayed great patience, waiting for the poor balls, and worked their way to victory with caution.
Virat Kohli, the RCB captain, completed his half-century in 45 balls and remained unbeaten on 62 runs. He hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in his innings, taking RCB home with 9 balls to spare. Padikkal played a crucial supporting role, contributing 40 runs off 28 balls to help RCB cross the line.
Rajasthan Royals’ Batting Struggles: Jaiswal the Lone Warrior

Rajasthan’s batting was average at most, except for Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal’s 75-run innings consisting of 10 fours and 2 sixes was the best part of Rajasthan’s innings.
He along with captain Sanju Samson contributed to a good opening stand of 49 runs, but the run rate was sluggish in the powerplay and the partnership was destroyed when Samson got stumped for a mere 15 runs.
Jaiswal, together with Riyan Parag, contributed a vital 56-run stand for the second wicket. But once Parag was dismissed for 30 runs, Rajasthan’s middle order could not maintain the momentum. Jaiswal got out on the final ball of the 16th over to Josh Hazlewood, whose leg-before wicket trapped him. This left Rajasthan at 126/3.
Dhruv Jurel took his time to play the slow knock before accelerating towards the end, scoring an unbeaten 35 off 23 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes. Shimron Hetmyer (9 runs) was run out off the last over, and Nitish Rana’s late boundary helped Rajasthan reach a total of 173/7 in 20 overs.
Rajasthan Royals’ Bowling: Not Enough to Stop RCB

Despite a good bowling effort by Rajasthan, they failed to defend the score. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, Krunal Pandya, and Josh Hazlewood each took one wicket, but all of them were unable to cut off the supply of runs after RCB’s openers picked up steam.
Phil Salt’s early onslaught was particularly damaging, and even though the Rajasthan bowlers managed to slow down the chase briefly, RCB’s experienced duo of Kohli and Padikkal ensured they reached the target with minimal fuss.
RCB’s Strong Record in Opponent’s Home Ground
With this victory, RCB has now won all four of their away matches this season, which proves their mettle in the opposition’s backyard. The dominant win against Rajasthan Royals is evidence of RCB’s tremendous form, especially in their batting unit, which is consistently delivering in IPL 2025.
RCB Overwhelms Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025
RCB vs RR IPL 2025 match was one classic instance of RCB dominating on the road, with leading roles being played by Phil Salt and Virat Kohli during the chase.
Rajasthan Royals showed much promise through Yashasvi Jaiswal’s marvelous 75 but their failure to convert crucial opportunities along with a creaking middle order led them to fall short of compiling a competitive total. RCB’s batting solidity and calm-headed run-chase meant that they left with a comfortable 9-wicket victory, further consolidating their position in the IPL 2025 table.
