IPL 2025: On Wednesday (March 26), Kolkata Knight Riders won their first match of IPL 2025 by defeating Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets. Thanks to Quinton de Kock’s amazing 97 not out, the defending champions chased down 152 runs in just 18 overs.
KKR Bowlers Restrict RR to 151/9 in IPL 2025 Match 6
KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and chose to bowl first, a decision that proved to be spot on. The KKR bowlers kept the RR batters on edge throughout, never letting them settle, and eventually bowled them out for 151/9.

The Royals were cruising at 67/1 in the eighth over, looking set for a big total. However, after Varun Chakaravarthy dismissed Riyan Parag for 25, Rajasthan lost four quick wickets, slipping to 82/5 after 11 overs. They continued to lose wickets regularly and finished with 151/9. Dhruv Jurel was the top scorer for RR with 33 runs off 28 balls, the only batter to reach 30.
For KKR, spinners Chakaravarthy and Moeen Ali impressed, each taking two wickets while conceding under six runs per over. Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana also claimed two wickets each.

In reply, KKR got off to a strong start with Quinton de Kock leading the charge. Moeen Ali was run out for 5 in the seventh over, but de Kock kept the runs flowing. Rahane got 18 but couldn’t go on, and de Kock, along with Angkrish Raghuvanshi, added an unbeaten 83-run partnership to guide KKR to victory.
