Former Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal has been hospitalized after suffering a heart attack during a domestic cricket match. The incident happened while he was leading Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) on Monday.

Sudden Health Scare on the Field

Tamim, 36, participated in the toss before the match but later complained of chest pain. Medical staff on the field provided immediate assistance before he was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Dr. Debashis Chowdhury, a medical officer from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), confirmed that Tamim suffered a heart attack. “His heart started to function better after initial treatment,” he said.

Prayers for Tamim’s Recovery

Tariqul Islam, a team official, urged fans and well-wishers to pray for Tamim’s quick recovery. He is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Savar, near Dhaka.

Following the news, the BCB cancelled its scheduled board meeting for the day. Several board members rushed to the hospital to check on Tamim’s condition.
