Australia is set to introduce fresh talent as they reshuffle their squad for the upcoming series against the West Indies. With the absence of Jhye Richardson and Glenn Maxwell in the three-match series next month, two new faces, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Xavier Bartlett, have earned their maiden international call-ups.

Bartlett steps in for the injured Jhye Richardson, who suffered a left-side injury while playing for the Perth Scorchers last month. On the other hand, Fraser-McGurk takes the place of Maxwell, who is being managed ahead of the T20I Series starting on February 9.

The 21-year-old Fraser-McGurk has garnered attention following his impressive performances in the BBL and Marsh Cup seasons, including a world record 29AustraliaCricket-ball one-day century against Tasmania. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Bartlett has had a successful summer with the Heat, emerging as the leading wicket-taker in the competition.

The three-match ODI series against the West Indies kicks off in Melbourne on February 2, followed by games in Sydney and Canberra. Additionally, a three-match T20I series is scheduled from February 9 to 13.

In the absence of Maxwell and Richardson, Steve Smith will lead the side, with Travis Head as his deputy. The squad is geared up for an exciting clash with the Caribbean side, featuring the debut of these promising young talents.
