On Thursday, 15th May 2025, ICC released the prize money for the WTC final 2025. This final will be held in the Lord’s stadium between South Africa and Australia. This time, the prize for winning has been raised by an enormous amount. In this season, the prize pool is $5.76 million, which was $3.8 million in the WTC 2019-21 season.
WTC Final 2025, Winner and Runner-Up Prize Amount
The team that will claim the title of WTC final 2025 will get a whopping amount of $3.6 million (Rs 30.80 cr). This amount is considerably bigger than the previous two seasons, which were $1.6 million (Rs 13.70 cr).

Runner-Up to Get USD 2.16 Million
The second-placed team in the WTC Final 2025 will not return home empty-handed. The runner-up will receive USD 2.16 million (around ₹18.47 crore). This is a big improvement from the USD 800,000 received by the 2023 edition, which went to Team India following their loss to Australia.
Team India to Receive USD 1.44 Million for Third Place
Even though they could not qualify for the final, Team India, who ultimately placed 3rd in the WTC 2023-25 points table, will also receive good monetary reward. The Indian team will receive USD 1.44 million ($1.44 million = approx. ₹12.32 crore)—which is almost the amount awarded as a prize in previous tournaments for the championship. India had their campaign finishing after taking a 0-3 home loss and 1-3 loss following Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Australia against South Africa in WTC Final 2025 at Lord’s
The marquee event of the World Test Championship 2023-25 will see Australia taking on South Africa at the world-famous Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. Australia, the defending champions, have booked their place in the final, having defeated India 3-1 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and then beating Pakistan 3-0 in Pakistan.
