Worst IPL Player: Indian Players Edition
5. Wasim Jaffer
The opening Indian batsman was recognised for his ability to bat deep in Test cricket, where he ranked among the greatest. Yet, the same cannot be said of his IPL stint. Wasim Jaffer was acquired by RCB for the 2008 season, when he batted in 8 innings and scored 130 runs at an average of 16 runs per innings.
4. Aditya Tare
This Indian Player has been a part of the Mumbai Indians’ dugout for a long time, having participated in six IPL seasons. Tare has appeared in 35 IPL matches and has scored 339 runs at an average of 14 runs per innings.
Tare appeared in 15 IPL games during the 2014 season, scoring 126 runs at an average of 15 runs per game. Tare’s best in 35 innings is 59.
3. Sarfaraz Khan
This young Indian batter is a bottom order batting for the Punjab Kings in the 2021 season. During his IPL career, Khan has spent the most of his time with RCB, where he has scored 441 runs in 38 innings while facing a total of 315 balls.
Sarfaraz Khan appeared to have the capacity to represent the country in the early years, but his catastrophic slide has forced him to stay on the bench season after season.
Many IPL fans would be surprised to see Nayar on this list, but consider this: Nayar has batted in 60 matches and scored just 672 runs, giving him a career average of 17.68 runs per innings.
Nayar, who batted in the middle order during his finest IPL days, has never made a half-century in 60 innings. Abhishek Nayar’s best performance was 45 runs in the first round in 2008.
