Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli does not need any introduction. This attacking batter has all the range of shots in the book. The star cricketer has an outstanding record in the ICC T20 World Cup. He had won the Player Of The Tournament Award twice in the marquee event, a feat no other cricketer has ever repeated before.

The 33-year-old first made his mark in the 2012 ICC T20 World Cup. However, his excellence came to the fore in the 2014 tournament in Sri Lanka. Kohli scored a sublime 77 not out in the final against Sri Lanka, albeit in a losing cause. He scored a stunning fifty and bagged key wickets in the 2016 semifinal against the Windies. But India lost that match, despite Kohli again winning the player of the tournament.
Can Kohli repeat his World Cup brilliance?
The former Indian captain has regained his lost form in the run-up to the tournament. He scored an impressive 122 not out of 61 balls against Afghanistan, to end his century drought. Previously, the Indian legend was struggling for runs for over two years. But he silenced his critics and shut down the worries of the fans by performing consistently in the remaining games.
Brilliant character shown by the boys to seal the series after being down. 🇮🇳 pic.twitter.com/qVCTXNWKH3

Australia is one of the happy hunting grounds of the Indian star. It is the place where he has scored the most hundreds outside India. Kohli has some sublime T20 knocks too in Aussie land. He has admitted he gains special energy while playing in Australia. It would mean he has the confidence to do well in the tournament.
Why is Virat Kohli a vital cog?
Former World Number 1 batter comes in at number three for India. He has the role to stabilise the innings and building partnerships for the team. At times, he will also have to play the aggressor role for the team.
Mobility is key 👌

Virat Kohli is a hard-working cricketer. He practiced an extra two hours alone after the India-New Zealand game was washed out. India would hope his dedication bears fruit in the World Cup.
