The flamboyant Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan got extremely angry at the Sri Lankan batsman Danushka Gunathilaka. In the game between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan which was the crucial encounter of the super 4 for qualification stage, the young side of Afghanistan failed to capitalise on match winning catches and momentary improvisation during their batting, which ultimately resulted in their defeat by Sri Lanka with the margin of four wickets.
The Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and invited the young batting side of Afghanistan to bat first in the crucial game and unexpectedly the Afghan batsmen really batted well, including the flamboyant innings of Rahmanullah Gurbaz which was of 84(45). After the completion of 20 overs Afghanistan posted a score of 175/6.
But as Sri Lanka came out to bat the pressure was completely built by the young bowlers in the couple of initial overs as the two batsmen from the top order Charith Asalanka and Pathum Nissanka almost played below the strike rate of 120. But small and effective innings consistently made by the first 6 batters helped the side to clinch victory at the end.

But this time the prime Afghan bowler Rashid Khan also went slightly expensive as the figures of his spell made the tally of i.e 1/39 (4.0), with an expensive economy of 9.75 as per his bowling standards. This could be one of the factors that contributed to the defeat of Afghanistan in this close encounter.
