But, batting with a strike rate of 400, he was out on the third ball. Despite his little innings, he scored 5000 runs in the IPL. This is an incredible accomplishment for the CSK captain, who is regarded as one of the best finishers in the game.

The Chennai Super Kings were defeated by the Gujarat Titans in the first match of the IPL 2023. After a strong start, CSK could only muster a total of 171/8 on the board, with Ruturaj Gaikwad leading the way with a magnificent 92-run knock. Titans bowlers Alzarri Joseph, Rashid Khan, and Mohammed Shami each took two wickets to keep the CSK batters at bay.
During the CSK innings, the renowned skipper MS Dhoni displayed some of his vintage flair in the last over, smashing a six and a four, scoring 14 runs off only 7 balls to give his team some late momentum.
The reigning champions Gujarat Titans made a terrific start to their innings, hitting 63 runs off only 36 balls as they chased a goal of 179 runs to win. Nevertheless, they stumbled in the middle overs and appeared to be in trouble until Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia began trading lusty strikes. They were able to chase down the mark with four balls to spare, resulting in a convincing victory over the Chennai Super Kings.
