The Indian Maestro pacer Deepak Chahar made a Mankad attempt on the veteran Zimbabwe opener Innocent Kaia. Although Chahar didn’t appeal for the wicket which showed his character and spirit for the game, still the controversy regarding this mankad again erupts in the global cricketing fraternity. Mankad is an attempt made by the bowler to run out the batsman of the non striker’s end when he stays far out of the crease.
Vinoo Mankad was the first Indian cricketer to do this in international cricket, on his name this move is renowned these days in cricket. Ravichandran Ashwin also made a similar kind of attempt on Jos Buttler and Lahiru Thirimanne of Sri Lanka, on both occasions he clinched the wickets of both which could be considered as an ethical and immoral stuff.
But Deepak Chahar showed his character and dedication regarding the game, he initially warned the batsman by clinching the bails and later didn’t try to make it again as the batters were also completely aware about it after the first warning given to them.
In the third one day international game Zimbabwe made a ruthless attempt to clinch victory against India where the star middle order batsman Sikandar Raja slammed a fantastic century which could even transform into a match winning knock if the other batters stayed with him till the end.
For the Indian team Shubhman Gill played a mesmerizing cameo of 130-runs which even set a record of most runs by an Indian on the Zimbabwe soil. So, below is the video of Mankad attempt made by Deepak Chahar on Innocent Kaia which went harmless for the opposition team.
