Virat Kohli emphasized the talented and capable young players among the current lot that he said would take India high for years to come. Kohli remarked on what fun, a journey it has been for India, and said, “When you leave, you want to leave the team in a better place; I feel we’ve a squad that’s ready to take on the world for the next eight years.”

He recounted that Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Hardik Pandya were some of the young and impressive players, without whom, as he asserted, India’s success would have been impossible.

In Kohli’s opinion, champions like Gill did a great job, and Iyer was the consistent part while Rahul played the finishing touch with solid composure. Hardik Pandya, as per him, has been great with the bat, adding depth and balance to the setup. Kohli said the senior players were there to bear the younger lot with their experience and help them grow further.

“These are the things you want to play for-titles, doing well under pressure, and putting your hand up,” Kohli said, underlining the contribution from each and every member of the team. While for him it was another ICC title won, it was more like redemption given the sad story of India losing the Test series to Australia.

“It has been emotional; we wanted to bounce back after that hard Australian tour, and we wanted to win a big tournament, and at the end of the day so that’s an amazing feeling,” Kohli said about his feeling. Samyukth: The triumph in the Champions Trophy for India was nothing short of a lifeline for the team after its rather disdainful performances in Tests, giving proof to another resurrection pretty much strong and still down back when it counts as, the most.

Kohli was particularly happy with how the team came through when challenges came up in their path as a point of pride for them converting that into a big reward for resilience and determination.

Kohli also spoke of the importance of leaving behind an evolving team capable of winning titles. About his retirement, Kohli has also mentioned how he is proud of the Indian dressing room, saying, “There is so much talent in the dressing room. They are trying to further take their game, and we are just glad that we can help and share our experience.”

He elaborated on the fact that senior players have the true essence of taking care of young talents and that they are teaching these players to develop to be ready for the next step.

Kohli explained that Indian success has all been through collective effort, underlining the fact that each player did stand up at some point in the tournament. “The whole team, everyone has, at one time or another, put their hands up during the tournament. Everyone has contributed with impactful performances,” Kohli pointed out, further stressing the collaborative nature of their success.
