Two of the most respected and champion players Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli could be eliminated from the Indian T20I team after the T20 World Cup 2022 as per the internal sources of BCCI. On the other hand, there are few reports also coming out from the sources of mainstream media that both these players will now be participating only in the longer formats like One-Day International and Test Cricket matches.
Recently, the Indian selection committee announced names of players who would be a part of the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Ravindra Jadeja wasn’t selected due to his injury in the past. When the Asia Cup was ongoing, it was predicted that Virat Kohli might not be a part of the upcoming World T20, but in the last game of Asia Cup, he smashed a majestic century which paved way for his last-minute entry into the squad.
While Ravindra Jadeja could have been really excluded from the T20 team because his all-round game doesn’t suit the aggressive template of playing which the Indian team adopted just a few months back so he would be the prospect who will only be considered for One Day Matches and Test Matches. Also, if Virat Kohli is eliminated from the team, then it might prove to be costly for BCCI and also the team management, as millions of fans and followers of the player might object.
