Unsung heroes: Journey of coach Dilip T who gives medals to the players

You have surely seen competition among Indian fielders for a medal in recent games, but do you know about Dilip T who is behind this medal? The fielding coach of the Indian team started this medal ceremony which took Indian fielding to another level. Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, and other players are giving a hundred percent effort on the field to win the medal of best fielding from their coach Dilip T. These unsung heroes are making efforts to make the Indian team unbeatable.  

Coach Dilip T is the current fielding coach of the Indian team who has become famous after his new endeavors in the team. His practice methods are new and interesting for Indian players. Dilip is not a former player nor a domestic giant but how is he seeking attention globally with his extraordinary effort in coaching? 

Love for the sport 

Being an average Indian kid Dilip joined a cricket academy with the dream of playing for India but due to his flawed financial condition he couldn’t carry forward his dream of playing professional cricket and started teaching math to his juniors which was fulfilling his need for money but it wasn’t putting his mind on rest. He found that he had the ability to teach or guide kids so he started giving cricket coaching to younger kids. His interest in cricket and skills coaching has made him the favorite coach of his students and they started admiring him. He noticed that cricket is the only thing that can convince him to be happy. 

Struggles 

Later Dilip T decided to pursue a career in cricket coaching so first of all he completed his education required for it and then he got a field assistant job in the Hyderabad Cricket Association. He was doing a decent job in his own field and he loved it. Being an Assistant feeding coach for a state board is enough for any middle-class boy who has dreamt of playing for India, but he knew it was not the destination for what he had started this journey it’s just a stop. He was avoiding every other responsibility rather than being a coach. He wanted to join the National Cricket Academy where he could polish new talents to make them play for the country. Later he got a job in an IPL franchise Deccan Charger but it wasn’t long before he got a job in NCA as a resident. He got the job he wanted. Watching young talents getting ready for the Indian team reminds him of his old days when he wanted the same thing but had lack of resources. Spending time with players and teaching them new things to improvise in the field has now become his daily routine. He always did this after being a player. 

Career

Everything was going constant until 2017 when the India A team went on the Bangladesh tour that was the first time he went with the team as a fielding coach and that pushed his career graph and he grabbed this opportunity with both hands. He impressed BCCI with his skills. When two Indian senior teams were sent on two different tours he was the fielding coach for one of them and then he realized that he was not going to end his career as a normal Indian fielding coach. He met Rahul Dravid for the first time on that tour. He asked the head coach if he wanted to speak to his team and Rahul Dravid being his senior didn’t object. His speech was good but due to the language barrier players were not getting him properly but that didn’t affect his coaching. He was constantly making his effort in practice to enhance player’s performances on the field, and along with that he also wanted to make a strong impact on the team, and for that, he had to improve his communication skills. Later he refined his English speaking to interact personally with the players. Now whenever he has to speak to the players he gets to interact with them and slowly Indian cricketers start respecting his decisions and value his words. 

Changed the fielding standards

Everything is good now he is the permanent fielding coach and he is doing the job he wanted to and getting enough money to make his family happy. Then the year 2023 the year of the World Cup and the team is surrounded by so many questions will thai time for India to win at home how this team is going to tackle big teams like Australia and New Zealand? The Indian team was doing good in the field but there was a lack of unity and rage of fight in the field. Fielding Coach Dilip T had an idea that could tick all the boxes which was giving the best building medal to the players who he thought did great on the field.  His efforts to bring some change in the team were successful and it brought some healthy competition among the teammates. 

A fielding coach who became a sensation with his new take at the international level there are only a few people who are familiar with his name and fewer than that who know about his personal. He is one of the unsung heroes who gives strength to the team but remains behind the scenes. There are many unsung heroes like Dilip T who empower the Indian team with their efforts and are the reasons for the success of the Indian Cricket Team.
