Unrealistic Thing to Be the Captain in All Three Formats: Pat Cummins Feels that It Is An Impossible Scenario for Him to Lead the Side in All Three Formats

The current test team captain of Australia, Pat Cummins recently said that it’s impossible for him to lead the team in all three formats of International Cricket.

The Australian test team captain, Pat Cummins recently put forth his thoughts on the takeover of One-Day International leadership of the Australian Cricket team after the former captain Aaron Finch announced his retirement from the ODI template of the game. Cummins said that it is possible for a fast-paced bowler to sustain the fitness while playing all three formats of the game on a regular basis but still it is difficult to lead the team on all fronts as it comes along with added pressure and responsibilities to perform with high efficiency on the field.

The legend of Australia, Aaron Finch recently declared his retirement from One-Day Cricket due to the work overload which was apparently ruining his fitness. After his farewell, the situation of leading the Australian team in One-Day Cricket is becoming more and more complex. Some of the veteran faces like Steve Smith, David Warner and Glen Maxwell are racing ahead for the designation; however, many terms and conditions are causing a delay in making the right choice.

Steve Smith, who majority of the cricket experts anticipate leading the Australian team has the controversy of ball tampering attached to him in the past. This instance happened on the tour of South Africa in 2018, so it would be interesting to see which player will captain the ODI side of Australia in future.

While Pat Cummins said in his recent conversation with Australian media that, “My phone is here if the CA wants to talk. What is done at the end of the day in the past? Good thing there’s a new board. I’m always happy to sit down and talk with them. Especially as a fast bowler, I think you need to find windows to rest. But I think you can manage it too.”
