The Junior Cricket Committee has appointed Uday Saharan as the skipper of India’s U19 squad, all set to compete in the upcoming ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2023. Scheduled to take place in the UAE from December 8-17, this tournament holds significant anticipation.
India, reigning champions and the most successful team in the event’s history with eight triumphs, brings forward a formidable side under Saharan’s leadership. The U19 squad, consisting of 15 members, includes Saumy Kumar Pandey as vice-captain and Aravelly Avanish Rao as the designated wicket-keeper.
Rudra Mayur Patel and Sachin Dhas, leading run-scorers in the ongoing U19 Quadrangular series, along with Musheer Khan and Naman Tiwari, the top wicket-takers, bolster the team’s strength. The Quadrangular series, featuring teams from England and Bangladesh, culminates on November 27 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

In addition to the core squad, three standby players – Prem Devkar, Ansh Gosai, and Md. Amaan – will accompany the team. The selection committee also identified four reserve players, Digvijay Patil, Jayanth Goyat, P Vignesh, and Kiran Chormale, who won’t be part of the touring contingent.
The semi-finals are set for December 15 at ICC Academy Oval 1 and Dubai International Stadium, while the grand final will take place on December 17 at the latter venue.
The India U19 squad comprises Arshin Kulkarni, Adarsh Singh, Rudra Mayur Patel, Sachin Dhas, Priyanshu Moliya, Musheer Khan, Uday Saharan (C), Aravelly Avanish Rao (WK), Saumy Kumar Pandey (VC), Murugan Abhishek, Innesh Mahajan (WK), Dhanush Gowda, Aaradhya Shukla, Raj Limbani, and Naman Tiwari.
