Indian U-19 Women’s Cricket Team to Be Honored by Sachin Tendulkar and BCCI Officials After Historic World Cup Victory

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced that great batsman Sachin Tendulkar and the BCCI office-bearers would host a felicitation ceremony on February 1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Indian U-19 women’s cricket team defeated England on Sunday to win the first age group World Cup in South Africa.

After the record-breaking achievement of U19 women’s at the world cup, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced that great batsman Sachin Tendulkar and the BCCI office-bearers would host a felicitation ceremony on February 1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

It is with great pleasure that I share that Bharat Ratna Shri @sachin rt and @BCCI Office Bearers will felicitate the successful India U19 Women’s team on 1stFebruary in Narendra Modi Stadium at 6:30 PM IST. The young U19 wome’s cricketers have made India proud, and we will honour their achievements, Shah wrote in a post on Twitter.

Tendulkar posted a tweet shortly after the historic victory to express his happiness and congratulate the U19 women’s players on their achievements. The young Indian women defeated their English opponents with seven wickets and six overs to win.

The entire women’s squad deserves congratulations for taking home the first U19 World Cup. The greatest batsman in the history of the game wrote on his social media account that “this victory will motivate an entire generation to pursue sports.

Thanks to some good bowling, Shafali Verma and the team were able to defeat the English women for a marginal total of 68 runs before Soumya Tiwari and Gongadi Trisha contributed 24 runs each to help the Indian women win in Potchefstroom.
