The match began on May 27. Bangladesh scored 242/7 on Day 1, led by Iftakhar Hossain’s 109 and Moin Khan’s 91. The lower order added useful runs on Day 2.
The Tshepo Ntuli Ripon Mondol fight broke out between South African off-spinner Tshepo Ntuli and Bangladesh’s No. 10 batter Ripon Mondol during the match. It started after Mondol hit Ntuli’s first ball of the 105th over for a big six. As the camera followed the ball, the action on the field wasn’t shown. When it returned, Ntuli was seen walking up to Mondol, arguing, then pushing him and grabbing his helmet grill.

Mondol pushed Ntuli back, and the umpires and South African players quickly stepped in to break it up. The incident has raised concerns about player behavior in youth-level international cricket.
It’s still unclear if Mondol said anything to provoke Ntuli. Interestingly, Ntuli later dismissed Mondol for 43 runs, 12 overs after the incident. Bangladesh was eventually all out for 371.
The match doesn’t have official first-class status, but the on-field clash between Tshepo Ntuli and Ripon Mondol may still result in disciplinary action. Match officials are expected to review the incident and decide on appropriate consequences, especially since this is the final game of the series.
Match referee Salim Shahed confirmed that a formal report will be submitted for review. He said he is waiting for the umpires’ version of events before deciding on any punishment.
“Once I receive the umpires’ report, I will prepare my report with suggestions of punishment. I will send that two both boards so that they can take action based on my report,” Shahed told a leading media, also noting that another South African player had already served a one-match ban during the one-day series.
