On Sunday, August 28 in Dubai, Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, defeated Pakistan by a margin of five wickets in the second match of the Asia Cup 2022. Due to his outstanding all-around performance in the match, Hardik Pandya deservedly took home the Player of the Match honour.
Pakistan scored 147 thanks to Mohammad Rizwan’s responsible knock (43 off 42), cameos from Haris Rauf (13* off 7) and Shahnawaz Dahani (16 off 6), and other factors.

KL Rahul was dismissed for a golden duck by rookie Naseem Shah in the first over of a difficult 148-run chase, shocking Team India. Alongside Naseem, Shahnawaz Dahani and Haris Rauf bowled effectively. Due to the trio’s excellent bowling, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had trouble with timing during the powerplay.
In order to get India back on track, Kohli gradually found his range and made some beautiful strokes. Rohit Sharma, however, was unable to duplicate the feat (12 off 18 balls). He died in the eighth over to Mohammad Nawaz while attempting to free himself from his chains.
After scoring 35 runs off of 34 balls and putting his side in trouble, Kohli quickly followed suit.
By scoring at a steady clip, Suryakumar Yadav (18) and Ravindra Jadeja attempted to put their team ahead. Naseem returned to dismissing just as the partnership appeared to be in danger, giving Pakistan an important victory.
At the climax, Pandya (33* off 17) and Jadeja (35 off 29) maintained their composure. They quickly scored to win their team the game in a nail-biting thriller. Pandya successfully completed the chase with a six in the final over after taking three wickets in the first innings.
