We informed the CWI Board of Directors of the Selection Panel’s decision to replace Shimron Hetmyer with Shamarh Brooks in our T20 World Cup squad this afternoon. Although we
changed Shimron’s flight from Saturday to Monday due to family obligations, we made it clear
to him that we would be forced to replace him if there were any additional issues or delays with
his travel to Australia because we couldn’t risk the team’s ability to train for this significant
international competition, said Adams.

Shamarh participated in our most recent T20 International teams and put out excellent efforts in
the closing rounds of the just-completed CPL. He will travel to Australia as soon as possible this
week, and I wish him and the entire team the best of luck in the competition, he continued.
West Indies will meet Scotland in the T20 World Cup opener on October 17. Along with
Scotland, Zimbabwe, and Ireland, they are in Group B.
