Pakistan’s history with cricket goes back to when the nation was founded in 1947. On November 22, 1935, Australia and Sindh played their maiden international cricket match in what is now Pakistan. The match took place in Karachi. 5,000 Karachi residents watched the game. Under their colonial rule of British India, which included the region that is now known as Pakistan, the Brits introduced cricket. The most popular sport in the nation is cricket. The national teams and all domestic cricket in Pakistan are under the jurisdiction of the Pakistan Cricket Board. Pakistan is a recognized participant in both the Asian Cricket Council and the International Cricket Council.
