It took him only 4 overs to change the face and future of the match. For this performance, he was also awarded as the ‘Man of the Match’. The second-best bowling performance was given by Rangana Herath when he was playing against New Zealand. Sri Lanka’s batting team failed to score much and could only give a score of 119 for New Zealand to chase. It was assumed that the match would be an easy win for the New Zealand team as the score was very less. However, Herath and the Sri Lankan team had other plans. Except one player, the bowling team did not let any batsman cross the 10-run mark. Herath changed the face of the game and brought victory to the team.

Umar Gul – 2009 World Cup Against New Zealand – 5 Wickets, 6 Runs in 3 Overs

This match was played New Zealand and Pakistan. Although New Zealand opted to bat first, it wasn’t able to maintain a good score for itself.
