India looks like a powerful side on paper. They have a strong batting unit and has some top bowlers. Talent has never been an issue for a hugely populous nation. However, they have failed to seize the big moments in major tournaments like World Cup. Hence they continued their title drought for many years (15 to be precise).

In 2007, India won the T20 World Cup under MS Dhoni. It was an inexperienced side that went to South Africa and conquered the trophy. This time, India is coming up with a far more experienced team. They have established specialists in all areas. What are the chances for Men in Blue in the World Cup?
Can India win the World Cup?
A tournament like the World Cup is all about absorbing the pressure and reacting to it in a demanding manner. India failed to capture such moments in the past editions, and it was something the former skipper Dhoni echoed in a press conference. The captain cool said the Indian team looks strong enough to win the cup. He added that if India is pitted against any team in terms of talent, they will have a 60 percent winning chance.

However, there are some areas that the team has to work on in battling with the top teams. Many teams have ticked their boxes, and it is likely to be a competitive World Cup, with little margin for errors, as it can take away the game. Teams like England, New Zealand, hosts Australia, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan are also in fine form and have depth in the squad.
What India must try to do?
Team India needs to fix their three major issues. One is to step up their fielding, the second is to bat responsibly in the middle overs. The third is to do well in the death overs. The Men in Blue have done well in the bilateral series, which were played in home conditions.

The previous time India traveled to Australia, they clinched history by winning the Border Gavaskar Series. The Men in Blue will look to take high spirit from that historic game and come back home, with the cup.
