Suryakumar Yadav attains career-high rating in the ICC T20I Rankings

Suryakumar Yadav has risen to the top of the ICC T20I rankings ahead of India’s third and final T20I against New Zealand.

Suryakumar Yadav has been enjoying a dominant run at the highest stage. The Mumbai Indians batter has continued his dominance at the top of the men’s T20I rankings. As of now, Suryakumar Yadav is stationed at the top with 908 points. Interestingly, after the first T20I against New Zealand in Ranchi, Suryakumar Yadav had accumulated a total of 910 points, but he dropped back to 908 points after playing a calm and composed knock in Lucknow which helped India cross the finishing line.

India have yet to play the third and final T20I in the ongoing series against New Zealand, and Suryakumar Yadav will get a chance to enhance his record and win the series against New Zealand. With 908 points, the Mumbai Indians hitter is closing up on English batter Dawid Malan’s all-time maximum rating point in Men’s T20Is. In Cape Town in 2020, Dawid Malan received 915 rating points. He currently has the second-highest T20I batter rating of all time. Suryakumar Yadav scored 239 runs in six T20 World Cup matches last year and was named the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year.

Not only Suryakumar Yadav, but also members of the New Zealand cricket squad, have made significant advances in the newly announced rankings. Finn Allan of New Zealand has risen eight places to 19th on the list of batters. Daryl Mitchell, another member of his team, advanced nine ranks to 29th. Mitchell Santner, the Kiwi captain, has risen in the rankings. The 30-year-old moves up two spots to ninth overall on the newest list of T20I bowlers and to 23rd in the updated all-rounder rankings.

In terms of team rankings, South Africa has dominated England in the first two ODIs, with captain Temba Bavuma regaining to form. Temba Bavuma struck a superb century in the second ODI in Bloemfontein and has risen 27 places in the rankings.
