It emerged of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday in the match against Punjab Kings (PBKS), SRH has now moved to the second position in the IPL 2024 league stage. Batting first, Hyderabad set a target of 215 runs for the opposition which SRH achieved after losing some crucial wickets when it looked like they could collapse, thanks to a splendid innings from Abhishek Sharma Junior opener.

The South African middle-order batsman put up an impressive show for his team with 49 runs scored at a Healthy Strike Rate of Over 200 Taking PBKS well past the 200-run Mark. Jitesh Sharma appeared in the end and hit 32 runs in the last over while remaining not out to give PBKS a daunting target of 215 runs against SRH.

Making light of the target scored by the SRH team, the captain Abhishek Sharma led a commanding chase with his magnificent batting in this IPL match.

But, thanks to the wickets in hand and some sensible batting at the end of the innings, SRH made sure that LSG did not spoil the chase and won the match with 5 odd balls to spare. It was not only beneficial to gain two valuable points but also one of the team shifted to the second place in the points list to make a strong statement in the list of playoffs.
