For the unversed, the Sri Lankan cricket team emerged victorious against the dangerous-looking Indian cricket team during the ODI series on Wednesday, August 7th, in Colombo. Riding on this win, the Sri Lankan cricket team propelled to the sixth spot in the latest ICC ODI Team Rankings, pushing England to seventh.
Meanwhile, the undisputed kings of ODI – the Indian cricket team has managed to hold their number one spot in the latest ICC ODI Team Rankings despite suffering back-to-back defeats in the recent three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.
While the Indian cricket team remains the number one ranked team in the ODI ranking list with 118 rating points, followed by Australia (116), South Africa (112), Pakistan (106), and New Zealand (101) at the second, third, fourth, and fifth spots, respectively. Sri Lanka (97), England (95), West Indies (78), Bangladesh (53), and Ireland (26) have completed the chart of top-10 teams in the latest ICC ODI Team Rankings.

Talking about the players’ rankings, Rohit Sharma, with 763 rating points, became the third-best batter in the latest ICC ODI team rankings for batters, pushing Virat Kohli down one spot to the fourth with 752 ranking points. Babar Azam, with 824 rating points remained the number one ranked ODI batter, followed by Shubman Gill, with 782 rating at the second spot in the updated rankings.
Meanwhile, India’s Kuldeep Yadav made a huge development in the updated ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings by gaining five spots. Kuldeep is the joint fourth-best bowler in the latest rankings for the bowlers, alongside Mohammed Siraj, both with 662 rating points. South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj is leading the table with 716 rating points.
Talking about the all-rounders, Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi remained the number one all-rounder with 320 rating points in the latest ICC Men’s ODI all-rounder Rankings.
