SRH vs MI IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians (MI) maintained their mid-season revival in IPL 2025 with an emphatic seven-wicket triumph over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Powered by a miraculous spell from Trent Boult and a stylish half-century by Rohit Sharma, MI rose to third in the points table, recording their fourth successive win.
SRH Collapses Early as Boult and Chahar Strike

In a déjà vu of their previous encounter at Wankhede, MI’s bowlers exploited the conditions masterfully. Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar set the tone with the new ball, dismantling SRH’s top order and reducing them to a dire 24/4 in the powerplay – the lowest of IPL 2025.
Boult’s 4 for 26 and Chahar’s 2 for 12 tore apart the SRH top order, including the run-outs of deadly openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. A strangle on a leg-side early ball of Ishan Kishan, who walked even as there was no appeal and no Ultra Edge spike, encapsulated SRH’s woes.
Klaasen and Manohar Save SRH with a stable innings

At 35/5, SRH were looking at a possible sub-100 total. Heinrich Klaasen, though, rescued the situation with his 71 from 44 balls, supporting a crucial 99-run sixth-wicket partnership with Impact Player Abhinav Manohar (43 off 37).
Klaasen’s reserved aggression, notably a jaw-dropping reverse-scooped six off Jasprit Bumrah, had SRH within striking distance. However, a subpar finish meant they could only muster a mediocre score of 143/8, which could hardly be considered a score that would challenge MI’s in-form batting lineup.
Rohit Sharma Continues Form Revival with Back-to-Back Fifties

Pursuing 144, MI appeared calm from the beginning. Despite losing Ryan Rickelton early, Rohit Sharma controlled the chase with a stylish 70 off 45 balls, displaying typical timing and strength, including an effortless six over long-off.
Rohit registered his second fifty in successive matches as he continued a welcome run of increasing scores. He would be well supported in his chase by Will Jacks and then Suryakumar Yadav, to chase the runs down with 26 balls to spare, proving their batting depth and intent.
Suryakumar Yadav Finishes in Style

Suryakumar Yadav (40* off 19) added the finishing touch as he tore boundaries in the death overs. He finished with a pull that should have been caught, but Nitish Kumar Reddy made a mess of it and allowed it to hurry to the fence and seal MI’s comprehensive win.

Points Table Impact and Looking Ahead
This win propelled Mumbai Indians to third spot after IPL 2025 started poorly, with them winning merely one of the opening five games. They then secured four back-to-back victories, gaining risky momentum in the second half of the season.
SRH fell to the second-last place with only two victories from the eight matches and a deteriorating net run rate of -1.361, barely any better than the fortunes of the struggling Chennai Super Kings.
