Hyderabad’s batting tumbles while MI’s bowling takes charge
The Wankhede Stadium pitch had assistance for spinners and pace bowlers, making the task of batting difficult for Sunrisers Hyderabad. There was a late push towards the end, but while SRH managed only 162/5 in their 20 overs, the MI bowlers stuck to their plan, to keep itѣ in check.
SRH’s batting line-up right from the start

Jasprit Bumrah was on song, taking 1 wicket for 21 runs off 4 overs. Trent Boult also got the ball talking, taking 1 wicket for 29 runs from 4 overs, bowling some dangerous Yorkers.
But the best of the SRH performers was Will Jacques, who performed with bat and ball. He took 2 wickets for just 14 runs off 3 overs and kept MI in charge of the game.
Hyderabad’s top order struggled. The opener, Abhishek Sharma, was the highest SRH batsman with 40 off 28 balls, which included 7 fours. Although he did not get going rhythm-wise, he fell in the 8th over to Hardik Pandya. Travis Head also tried, but he could only manage 28 off 29 balls and battled with the MI bowling order.
The MI bowling was not only strong to disallow their batsmen but also disrupted their innings, which left Hyderabad with a limited score. Heinrich Klaasen (37 runs from 28 balls) was the only other batsman to contribute decently, while the tail contributed some runs in the final overs. Aniket Verma managed some sort of relief with two sixes in the last over, but overall it was a disappointing score anyway.
Rohit Sharma’s Quickfire Start Sets the Tone for MI

Mumbai Indians’ openers, captained by Rohit Sharma, responded in style. Their aggressive batsman, Rohit, struck two sixes off Mohammad Shami in the third over and one six off Pat Cummins in the fourth over. His 26 off just 16 balls provided MI with the thrust they needed, but he was also dismissed to Cummins in the same over.
Following the fall of Rohit, Will Jacques maintained his good form, helping wicket-keeper batsman Jimmy Rickleton strongly. Jacques, who had been the big contributor with the ball, played a timely 36 runs in 26 balls, including 3 fours and 3 sixes, to maintain the run rate for MI. Rickleton, however, was out for 31 runs, having hit 5 boundaries.
Middle-Order Strength Powers MI to the Target

MI’s middle-order was cruising to the target. Suryakumar Yadav played a calm knock and scored 26 runs, off 17 balls, with 2 fours and 2 sixes, while batting with Jacques. Captain Hardik Pandya made a quick contribution of 21 runs off 9 balls, including 3 fours and a six, before he was out.
Tilak Verma, who came in late,r ended up unbeaten on 21 runs; he was at the crease to finish the game as MI won with 5 balls to spare. Regardless of the minor bumps in the chas,e MI always kept things level-headed and reached the target in 19 overs, for a much-needed win.
Pat Cummins’ Efforts Not Enough for SRH

Pat Cummins was the best bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad as he took 3 wickets in his 4 overs, but it wasn’t enough to defend a below-par score. SRH’s bowlers, including Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, were unable to stop the MI batsmen as they were unable to protect a low target.

They have progressed up the points table and will want to continue moving forward to carry positive momentum throughout the season. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, this is their 5th loss out of seven matches, so they will have to regroup soon if they don’t want to lose out on their season.
