Day 2 of the ongoing first Test at the Lord’s Cricket Ground saw South Africa dismiss England for a meager total of 165 thanks to a brilliant five-wicket haul from Kagiso Rabada. South Africa responded well, led by skipper Dean Elgar and opener Sarel Erwee. Elgar and Erwee put on 85 runs for the first wicket before the former was out in one of the most unfortunate ways possible. Elgar attempted to imitate James Anderson’s delivery. The ball, however, clipped his thigh guard and bounced back off his right arm before hitting the stumps.

Notably, Elgar was caught behind Stuart Broad, but an immediate review revealed that the ball had struck his pad rather than his bat.
In addition, the southpaw was batting on seven when he edged Matthew Potts, only to have Zak Crawley drop a head-high slip catch that burst through his hands.
Earlier, Rabada finished with 5 for 52 in 19 overs, his 12th five-wicket haul in a Test innings.
Anrich Nortje had taken three wickets after Rabada’s first, including the prized scalp of in-form Jonny Bairstow for a duck.
Ollie Pope’s 73 was the only double-figure score by an England specialist batsman, with England captain and all-rounder Ben Stokes contributing 20.
England has won all four Tests under their new leadership team of Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum after switching to an all-out attack mode.
