The Sanatan Premier League (SPL) 2026 is becoming an exciting contest with each passing match. The tournament, held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Indore, has already produced several dominant victories, outstanding individual performances, and dramatic collapses.

Ahilya Mata Guardians Defeat Uttarakhand Thunders by 4 Wickets
Madhya Pradesh Ahilya Mata Guardians won an important match against Uttarakhand Chandrashekhar Azad Thunders by four wickets.
Uttarakhand struggled to get off to a good start while batting first. Their top order quickly collapsed, and the team continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Rahul attempted to stabilise the innings by scoring 20 runs off 20 balls, while Yash Rav added 19 runs off 15 deliveries. Lokesh scored an unbeaten 11 runs off 7 balls in the last over.
However, the Guardians’ strong bowling kept the game under control. Uttarakhand’s 10 overs yielded only 71 runs for 7 wickets.
Sushant Nagar was the ball’s star performer. He bowled brilliantly and picked up three important wickets while conceding just 13 runs in his three-over spell. His accurate bowling never allowed the opposition to build momentum.
Chasing 72 runs, the Guardians also lost early wickets. But Darshan played a crucial innings and steadied the chase with a quick 24 runs from 12 balls. Anand supported him well with 14 runs from 9 balls.
Eventually, the Madhya Pradesh team reached the target with ease, scoring 74 runs for 6 wickets in 8.1 overs.
Sushant Nagar was awarded the Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance.
Maharashtra Warriors Crush Gujarat Lions by 87 Runs
In another dominant performance, the Maharashtra Chhatrapati Shivaji Warriors defeated the Gujarat Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Lions by a massive margin of 87 runs.
Batting first, Maharashtra had a shaky beginning as they lost their first wicket early with just 7 runs on the scoreboard. But the innings soon turned around after Arun and Hrithik Upadhyay built a strong partnership.
Arun played a solid knock of 23 runs from 14 balls. However, the biggest highlight of the innings was Hrithik Upadhyay’s explosive batting. He smashed 55 runs off only 21 balls, attacking the Gujarat bowlers from the start.
In the final overs, Ajinkya scored 24 runs from 11 balls and Mayank added a blistering 36 runs from just 12 deliveries. Their aggressive batting helped Maharashtra post a huge total of 146 runs for 3 wickets in 10 overs.
Chasing a difficult target of 147 runs, Gujarat never looked comfortable. They kept losing wickets regularly and failed to build any partnerships. Prasad was the only batsman who tried to fight back, scoring 24 runs from 14 balls.
The Gujarat team eventually finished with only 59 runs for 9 wickets in 10 overs.
For Maharashtra, Himanshu led the bowling attack with 3 wickets for 20 runs. Mayank, Suryavanshi, and Gopal also contributed with two wickets each.
Hrithik Upadhyay was named Player of the Match for his explosive half-century.
Gujarat Lions Dominate Uttar Pradesh with 59-Run Victory
In another match of the tournament, the Gujarat Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Lions delivered a strong performance to defeat the Rani Lakshmibai Strikers by 59 runs.
After winning the toss, Gujarat captain Abhishek Prasad decided to bat first. The decision proved to be correct as the openers gave the team an excellent start.
Prashant was the standout performer. He played aggressive cricket from the beginning and completed the first half-century in the history of the Sanatan Premier League. He scored 51 runs from 31 balls.
Gujarat looked set for a huge total, but Harendra pulled things back in the final over by taking a team hat-trick and conceding just 7 runs. Gujarat finished their innings with 104 runs.
Chasing 105 runs, Uttar Pradesh collapsed under pressure. Naveen removed two batsmen in the first over itself, and the batting lineup never recovered from that early blow.
The entire UP team was bowled out for just 45 runs. Naveen delivered an exceptional bowling spell and claimed five wickets, completely dismantling the opposition.
Gujarat won the match comfortably by 59 runs.
Rajasthan Ranbakure Beat Uttarakhand Thunders by 63 Runs
The second match of the tournament saw Rajasthan Maharana Pratap Ranbakure dominate the Uttarakhand Chandrashekhar Azad Thunders.
Rajasthan captain Laxmi Narayan won the toss and chose to bat first. The openers Devansh and Rakesh gave the team a strong start by scoring 26 runs in the first two overs.
Although Uttarakhand bowlers tried to slow the scoring rate, captain Laxmi Narayan held the innings together. Playing a captain’s knock, he scored 42 runs from 32 balls and helped Rajasthan post a total of 93 runs.
Lokesh was the best bowler for Uttarakhand, taking 3 wickets for 21 runs.
While chasing 94 runs, Uttarakhand had a disastrous start. Wickets kept falling regularly and half of the team returned to the pavilion within the first five overs.
The biggest moment of the match came when Laxmi Narayan produced a brilliant bowling performance. After playing a key role with the bat, he also dominated with the ball, taking 7 wickets for just 8 runs and completing a hat-trick.
Uttarakhand were bowled out for only 30 runs, and Rajasthan secured a huge 63-run victory.
Warriors Begin the Tournament with a Big Win
The opening match of the Sanatan Premier League 2026 was played between Chhatrapati Shivaji Warriors and South Dravid Chola Rockers.
South Dravid won the toss and decided to bowl first. Their bowlers started strongly and picked up early wickets, putting Maharashtra under pressure.
However, the momentum shifted in the final over when Mayank played an explosive innings. He smashed three sixes and a four, scoring 36 runs off just 11 balls. Thanks to his late attack, Maharashtra posted 120 runs in 10 overs.
While chasing the target, the South Dravid batting lineup collapsed under pressure. The team struggled to score runs and kept losing wickets regularly.
They were eventually bowled out for just 59 runs.
Himanshu was the standout bowler for Maharashtra with a five-wicket haul, helping his team win the match by 61 runs.
Madhya Pradesh Defeat Indraprastha Kings by 9 Wickets
In another match, the Ahilya Mata Guardians defeated the Indraprastha Kings with a dominant 9-wicket victory.
Delhi captain Rajiv Gaur chose to bat first after winning the toss, but the decision did not work in his favor. The team struggled on a pitch that offered uneven bounce.
Delhi batsmen attempted aggressive shots from the start but failed to adjust to the conditions. As a result, wickets kept falling quickly and the team was eventually bowled out for just 54 runs.
Sushant was the most successful bowler for Madhya Pradesh, taking 3 wickets for only 8 runs.
Chasing 55 runs, the Guardians batted sensibly. Ashish scored 28 runs from 22 balls, while Darshan added 18 runs from 10 deliveries and finished the match with a stylish six.
Madhya Pradesh comfortably reached the target and won the match by 9 wickets.
