Sam Curran walked out to bat at no.5 and he played a sensational knock of 51 off just 22 balls. His stunning knock was laced with six sixes. All thanks to his knock, the Invincibles finished on 147/5 in their quota of 100 deliveries. For London Spirit, Olly Stone, Liam Dawson, Dan Lawrence, and Matthew Critchley also bagged one wicket apiece.
In reply, London Spirit got off to a quick start but Oval Invincibles used their spinners amazingly well as they accounted for the top-5 batters in the opposition lineup. Sam Curran did the rest of the damage as he ran through the batting line-up of the opposition.

Curran followed it up with a dot ball before dismissing Liam Dawson, Olly Stone, and Andre Russell to claim his maiden hat-trick in The Hundred 2024. Andre Russell’s wicket was the last nail in the coffin and four balls later, Sam Curran dismissed Daniel Worrall to wrap up the innings.

Eventually, London Spirit were bowled out for 117 runs, utilizing only 95 balls of their innings. Curran ended his spell with the sensational figures of 5/16 in 20 balls, bowling an impressive 11 dots. Later on, Sam Curran was adjudged Man of the Match for his phenomenal all-round exploits. Oval Invincibles have won three games and lost one out of the four games they have played so far.
