In his first presser as BCCI president, he set the agenda very straight. Binny wanted to revive the standards of domestic cricket. He asked the players to participate in domestic matches during their break from the international schedule. A former cricketer, the all-rounder said he and his teammates used to do that when they played for India.

Roger Binny has a few tasks lined up

The 67-year-old cricketer said his immediate agenda is to make the crowd return to watch domestic matches. The experienced cricketer recalled there are over 10,000 people who attend such games in Australia. But in India, the number is pretty low. Binny thought people may throng if star players make themselves available for the matches.

Another key aspect in front of the former Karnataka cricketer is the India-Pakistan cricket ties. BCCI secretary categorically stated India will not travel to Pakistan. The Men in Green Cricket Board has unofficially threatened to boycott the 2023 World Cup in India. However, it remains to be seen how the BCCI would approach this issue. It is likely they will insist on a neutral venue and Pakistan may have to mend ways, because BCCI is more powerful in the ICC.

BCCI is a colossal force

The network of BCCI is over 18000 crore in the last financial year. They are the richest cricket body in international cricket. BCCI is a power block on its own with its financial strength.

Roger Binny will have a challenging phase as top administrator. However, fans and game lovers would hope Binny would do the job. The all-rounder was a utility player in his cricketing days. They would hope he repeats the same performance as the BCCI president.
