India’s Star Cricketer Rishabh Pant Set to Make Comeback at IPL 2024 Auction. Delhi Capitals’ wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant, is eagerly anticipating his appearance at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction in Dubai. After being out of action for a year due to a near-fatal car accident, Pant is set to sit on the auction table for Delhi Capitals on Tuesday.
Reflecting on this unique opportunity, Pant shared his excitement in a video posted by the IPL handle on social media. “As a kid, I used to think one day I might be able to sit on the table, somehow to help a team or something like that. I never thought that I would make it happen, but somehow things are in place, and I’m lucky to be able to do it,” he said.

Expressing hope for an amazing experience, Pant acknowledged feeling nervous but emphasized his desire to grow as an individual through this new venture. “Nervousness is one point I’ve to work on because whenever you do something exciting or new, the nervousness is always there. Yes, this is my first time, but I want to grow as an individual and learn whatever I can from it,” he added.
Pant also opened up about his challenging recovery process after the accident, describing himself as “lucky to be alive.” Despite facing significant pain initially, he expressed gratitude for the progress in his recovery. “Just looking at the journey till now, I think it’s been going well from a recovery point of view. I felt like I couldn’t face people and all, and I felt like I had to do something which gives me confidence,” he shared.
Earlier reports from Delhi Capitals management indicated that Pant, undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, is expected to regain fitness by the end of February.
