The Director of Cricket for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Mo Bobat, thinks Cameron Green, an Australian all-rounder, is perfect for the powerful batting role in the middle-order for RCB. Green was traded to RCB from Mumbai Indians just before the retention deadline for players.

Bobat said, “We wanted someone powerful in the middle-order, and Green fits that role perfectly. He’s a skilled batsman, handles both fast and spin bowling well, and has experience playing for Australia. He’ll enjoy batting at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.”

Bobat also praised Green’s bowling and fielding abilities, highlighting his pace, bounce, and exceptional fielding skills, making him a valuable asset to the team. He explained that RCB had clear plans for player retentions and releases before they unexpectedly learned about Green’s potential availability for trade. The team aimed to strengthen the middle-order, and Green seemed like the right fit after they had to let go of another player, Wanindu Hasaranga.

Having discussed and weighed the pros and cons, RCB decided to trade for Green to ensure they didn’t lose him to another team before the auction. With Green’s arrival, RCB now has more funds to fill six slots at the upcoming IPL auction in Dubai.

Head Coach Andy Flower, excited about Green joining RCB, emphasized the team’s focus on improving the middle-order batting and balancing the roster with overseas players.RCB Director of Cricket hails Cameron Green’s fit for middle-order role
