Ravichandran Ashwin Told the Bowlers, “Got to Be Brave” in T20 World Cup

According to Ravichandran Ashwin, Australia’s wider boundaries will provide spinners greater room to strike.

In India’s opening exhibition game against Western Australia on Monday, Ravichandran Ashwin did not bowl.

The best spinner in India, Ravichandran Ashwin, believes that Australia’s larger boundaries will provide spinners more freedom to attack, as opposed to tiny Indian fields where one is needed to use defensive strategies. Before moving to Brisbane for the ICC warm-up matches before their World Cup start against Pakistan in Melbourne on October 23, India will be staying in Perth for a week. Ashwin watched the England-Australia match here on Sunday with some of his colleagues.

The bowlers said that the boundaries are substantially larger in Australia, giving them more freedom to work with the ball. “What occurs in our domestic bilateral and T20 matches may cause us to start worrying. While it’s fair to say that bowlers are getting hit all over the field, we also need to recognize that boundaries in India are situated relatively near to the 30-yard line. Ravichandran Ashwin told the bowlers, “Got to Be Brave.” in T-20 World Cup to understand the lengths at which you must bowl, so you must have the courage to take 50-50 chances in these situations”, said Ashwin following the game at the WACA facility.

So, it was essential that we got there early and got used to the pace and bounce. There are a few new men on the team, so it will be a fantastic opportunity for them to adjust.” In reference to the preparatory game, he said: “It was basically a good game of cricket, and it is crucial to log those miles as soon as possible, regardless of how frequently you visit Australia and England.

“By the time the first game comes, you need to be up and running and sure about what the conditions are going to be,” the shrewd spinner said, referring to the England-Australia match at the Optus Stadium. Including back-to-back Test series victories, India has recently enjoyed considerable success in Australia. That will give the team confidence, according to Ashwin.
