
Ranji Trophy 2024-25: Vidarbha recovered from the crisis with the brilliant century of 21-year-old Danish Malewar, now eyes on the big score
Danish Malewar Century in Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Final: In the final match of Ranji Trophy 2024-25, Vidarbha scored 210 runs for the loss of three wickets in 70 overs on the first day. 21-year-old Danish Malewar scored a brilliant century in difficult conditions and pulled the team out of trouble. Malewar is unbeaten on 119 runs, while Karun Nair is at the crease with 64 runs.
Kerala, who won the toss and elected to bowl first, initially shook Vidarbha’s top order but a partnership between Malever and Nair put the team in a strong position.
Vidarbha had a bad start
The match started very badly for Vidarbha. On the second ball of the first over, MD Nidheesh sent Parth Rekhade to the pavilion without opening his account. After this, in the sixth over, Darshan Nalkande was also out after scoring just 1 run. The score had just reached 11 runs when Dhruv Shori got caught by wicketkeeper Mohammad Azharuddin after scoring 16 runs. Danish Malewar played a responsible innings, and Karun Nair supported him

After losing three wickets early, Vidarbha was in trouble, but 21-year-old Danish Malewar batted brilliantly under pressure and gave the team a chance to recover. He made an unbroken century partnership for the fourth wicket with Karun Nair. The score was 81/3 till lunch, where Malewar was playing after scoring 38 runs and Nair 24 runs. Both the batsmen showed great patience and gradually increased the run rate.
Danish Malewar completed his half-century in 104 balls and after that started scoring runs rapidly. He completed his century in 168 balls, which included 12 fours and 2 sixes. On the other end, Karun Nair also showed great patience and scored 64 runs. Due to the partnership of these two, Vidarbha was able to reach the 200-run mark.
Kerala bowlers got off to a good start but then struggled
Kerala bowlers performed brilliantly in the beginning. MD Nidheesh took 2 wickets for 28 runs in his 16 overs, while Eden Apple Tom took 1 wicket for 63 runs in 18 overs. However, after the initial setbacks, Vidarbha batsmen played cautiously and Kerala bowlers could not get any further success. Jalaj Saxena gave 43 runs in 13 overs, but could not get any wicket. Similarly, Nedumankuzhi Basil and Aditya Sarwate also kept yearning for wickets.
Vidarbha eyes on a big score
Vidarbha has scored 210/3 runs in 70 overs on the first day and Danish Malewar is present at the crease after scoring 124 runs. Karun Nair is also supporting him by scoring 65 runs. Vidarbha will try to cross the score of 300 without losing any wickets by the end of the first day’s play so that pressure can be created on Kerala. At the same time, Kerala will have to take wickets as quickly as possible to make a comeback.
Danish Malewar impressed everyone with his game on the first day of the Ranji Trophy final. At the age of 21, he showed tremendous maturity and scored a brilliant century in difficult conditions.
