Rangpur Riders are the name of the Bangladesh Chief Association Twenty20 establishment cricket team (BPL T20). This franchise team competes in the Rangpur Division and calls Rangpur, Bangladesh, it’s home. Rangpur Riders debuted in the Bangladesh Premier League in 2013 as the Rangpur franchise.

For the 2019 season, they decided to change the name to Rangpur Riders. Nonetheless, the Rangpur Riders will be the team’s sole moniker beginning with the upcoming season. Shoaib Malik, a renowned Pakistani all-rounder, has been appointed captain of the Rangpur Riders. Sohel Islam, the current spin-bowling coach for the Bangladesh men’s cricket team, has been hired as the head coach for Rangpur Riders. Rangpur Riders won the 2017 BPL championship. The team consists of some of the best players in the world and those from the home nation.

Rangpur Riders Achievements:

  • Rangpur Riders scored the highest runs in the history of the BPL in 2019. The opponent was the Chittagong Vikings, and the venue was Chattogram Stadium. Rangpur scored 239 runs in their first innings, which is the most by any BPL team. Two different batters scored centuries in the same inning for the first time in BPL history.
  • In 2017, Rangpur Riders scored more points than they ever had before. It occurred in Mirpur during the championship match against the Dhaka Dynamites. Rangpur’s first innings total was an outstanding 206 and one.
  • Rangpur Riders confronted Sylhet Thunder. It occurred in Sylhet during the 32nd contest of the 2020 season. Rangpur scored 199/5 in 20 overs as a team. Sylhet’s beginning was tumultuous. They were dismissed for 161 runs in 19.1 overs, resulting in a loss of 38 runs.
